I wasn’t up for many mock drafts this season. In fact, the off-season leading up to the draft pretty much snuck up on me. Here is my final mock draft, and this one will include TRADES!!! This will be updated leading up to the draft. Some things to keep in mind that will influence my mock drafts:

  • Running Backs: This a deep running back class. Deep in the sense that there are many talented backs that will have good NFL careers. However, I don’t see any superstar type backs in this draft. We don’t have Ezekiel Elliot, Saquon Barkley, Christian McCaffery, or Todd Gurley type players in this class. The league is a passing league, and many teams like to employ a RBBC, and without that “special” talent, I could see a year like we had in 2013 & 2014 where we didn’t have any running backs selected in the first round.
  • Tight Ends: This is arguably the deepest tight end class the NFL has had in a while. We know 2013 consisted of Zach Ertz, Travis Kelce, Jordan Reed, and Tyler Eifert, but injuries to Reed and Eifert has hurt the class overall. In that 2013 class, only Eifert was a 1st round pick. The highest number of tight ends we had drafted in the first round is three, including the 2017 class of Howard, Engram, and Njoku. So far that looks like a very promising group, but after them there was a significant drop-off from a “talent” standpoint. Someone must’ve forgotten to tell that to George Kittle though. The 2019 tight end class is oozing with talent at the position. So much so, that it could actually have a negative impact for these player’s draft value. Team’s could hold off on using their 1st round pick on a tight end, with the expectation that they could still land a good one in the other rounds. It is for that reason that my first mock draft doesn’t include any of these versatile big men.

We are almost there… Enjoy!
